Mr Dermot Mannion, Deputy Chairman, Royal Brunei Airlines

Dermot Mannion is the Deputy Chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines.  He was appointed by the Brunei Ministry of Finance in 2010 to lead the corporate restructuring of the business at the country's flag carrier. Prior to that he was Chief Executive Officer of Aer Lingus, where he successfully floated the company on the London/Dublin stock exchanges and then subsequently defended two hostile takeover bids from Ryanair. Mr Mannion began his aviation career at Emirates where he rose to the position of President Group Support Services after a career of more than 15 years. Overall, he has a solid track record of achievement in airline operations across three continents, characterised by strong cash flow, improved productivity, low unit costs, excellent customer service and high staff morale.
