Rashid Al-Ghailani is the Chief Officer HR of Oman Air. Joining Oman Air was more of a transfer between 2 government entities rather than changing career. He reports to the CEO and shares the responsibility of decision making and formulating company’s strategy. Monitoring company’s performance and methods to improve productivity is a min task at this job level. He was selected to this position to lead a challenging stage where a major reform is required to HR and other areas. The Airline aims to expand and requires firm HR strategy and corporate governance that can lead to the next development phase. Since he joined, he has set the stage to secure the implementation of key HR practices to the international standards; e.g. re-writing company’s HR corporate manual, streamlining recruitment process, creating new corporate performance system, and securing transparent compensation and benefits policies. The position involves key authorities and responsibilities and reports to the Board directly in certain issues.
