Raheel Ahmed is the Senior General Manager-Human Resources in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

PIA was established in 1955 as a state run airline of Pakistan.  It has served as a nursery for some renowned airlines and continues to follow its tradition of being a provider of trained human capital in the global aviation industry. PIA has its own state of the art Training Center with modern simulators of Boeing & Airbus. It provides technical facilities to a number of airlines routing via Pakistan. It is the largest and the only state owned airline of Pakistan. PIA is accumulating financial losses since 2008 and is presently undergoing a revival through structural change in its operations and cultural environment.

Raheel has earlier served as the General Manager Human Resources in a large privately jointly owned Steel Mill in Pakistan. He was among the pioneers in the steel mill to establish and start its operations in Pakistan in collaboration with Sumitomo Corporation of Japan and JFE. World Bank was the investing partner in this mill. He remained at various senior positions in Hutchison Ports Holdings (HPH) which is a group-member company of Hutchison Whampoa Limited now known  (IFC) as CH Hutchison Holding Ltd. He is a graduate of Air Force Academy and has worked in military aviation (Air Force) for a number of years in his initial professional career. He is a qualified HRMP from USA & Japan and is an adjunct faculty member in few renowned business schools. He is a member of Board of Governors in ‘Pakistan Society for Training & Development’.
 
He was approached by PIA to play a vital role in the revitalization of airline and making it again a profitable venture for Pakistan. He is currently formulating policies & strategies to revive and strengthen the airline on professional lines. He has introduced a number of market best practices in the airline. His track record reveals some challenging success stories of the past and revival of sick units. 

Raheel has a MBA from IBA Karachi which is the first offshoot of Wharton Business School outside North America. Additionally, he a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Pakistan and diversified management certifications.

He hails from Karachi, Pakistan but has lived and worked in USA also. His wife is a Consultant Family Physician and all their three children are studying in different classes.
