Khounphon Philakone, Deputy Director on ICT & E-Commerce, Commercial Department, Lao Airlines

Mr. Khounphon Philakone assumed his role as the Deputy Director, Commercial Department of Lao Airlines from 2016 where he supervised various areas on Information Technology division, E-Commerce division, and Loyalty Program.

Mr. Khounphon receives his bachelor degree in Business Administration major in Computer Application at De La Salle University, Philippines back in 2008. Before joining Lao Airlines, Mr. Khounphon started his early career in banking industry and securities market. With experience and background in IT and business administration, integrating technology in business has always been his area of interests. Mr. Khounphon main responsibility is to assist board of management in the business strategic planning, implementing new technology to enhance Lao Airlines’ business operation that match up with the international level. 

Lao Airlines is a state-owned enterprise and a national carrier of the Lao PDR. The company operated for over 25 years, we dominate domestic routes and continuously expanding to reach farther for more international destinations.

For IT leaders, this means a holistic strategy to manage digital innovation and use these technologies to improve areas of the business, particularly direct channel sales, marketing, cross-selling, and dynamic pricing and inventory management.
