Qualified and licensed as an Air Traffic Controller in 1985, also holds a Bachelor of Business Management and currently pursuing an MBA (Strategic management). Has worked at different positions including Aerodrome, Approach, Area and Radar in major stations in Kenya. A trained Search and Rescue Administrator, Accident/Incident investigator and ATM system analyst. Currently in charge of ATM operations at the KCAA Head office.
Regionally, led a team of experts in the EAC study on upper airspace management whose outcome is expected to see the region have seamless operations by 2021. The initiative should see the EAC region increase capacity of handling flights with net increase of traffic flow while using modern aviation technology under the Aviation System Block Upgrade (ASBU) platform.
An active member of Africa ATS incident analysis working group that analyzes incidents annually, comes up with mitigation that are put in place by ANSPs and does follow up through a Tactical Action Group to enable safe efficient airspace management in Africa.
