Mr. Tsair-Ming Kuo is Vice President of the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC). He is in charge of operation and maintenance objectives reliability and rail transit, system improvements, the planning and building of rapid transit information systems, internal audit and control system planning, and EMU rolling stock maintenance, as well as research and development of railway technology.
He was chairman of Metro Consulting Services from 2012 to 2015. He also actively participates in a wide range of international railway organizations, including as the Vice-Chair of the UITP Asia-Pacific Committee and member of the UITP Asia-Pacific Urban Rail Platform.
Mr. Tsair-Ming Kuo holds an MA and a PhD in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University. He has worked in the rapid transit industry for 25 years since joining the Preparatory Office of the TRTC in 1991. He has seen through important projects such as the transfer and testing of various new lines on the Taipei Metro system, the development of the Metro’s information system, and the takeover and performance improvement of the Taipei Arena. He has held positions including Director of the Audit Office, Director of the Information Division, Director of the Facilities Division, and Director of the Electrical and Mechanical Division.
