Ashwani Saxena is a 1985 Batch Officer of Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE). He has completed his undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering and has done postgraduate studies in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India. He has an experience of about 30 years working in Railway and Metro Sector.
He has held a number of important roles in Indian Railways projects for about 24 years such as Senior Project Manager for construction of new Railway lines, Sr. Divisional Engineer of a Division for responsible for track maintenance, bridges and colonies and as Chief Engineer in Zonal HQ dealing with Track machines and procurement of track components etc.
Presently posted as Director (Project), Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation, Jaipur and is also in-charge for implementation and execution of Metro Rail project Phase-1 costing about Rs.3,000 crore. He has been associated with this project for the last 5 years since its inception of this Project. Jaipur Metro Rail Project Phase-1 is one of the fastest Implemented Metro Projects in India. He is also in-charge for planning and implementation of Phase-2 of Jaipur Metro Project with an estimated cost of Rs.10,000 crore. He is also looking after the work of Commissioner (Railway Coordination), Department of Urban Development & Housing, Government of Rajasthan, as a Nodal Officer for construction of Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) in urban areas in Rajasthan.
