Bing Yan, MD, MBA is currently Head of Clinical Development Asia & China Vaccines Lead, Emerging Markets at Pfizer Inc. In his role, Dr. Yan is responsible for clinical research strategy and implementation in Asia across a broad range of therapeutic areas, with a primary focus in China. In addition, he is on special assignment to lead the vaccines development efforts in China. Dr. Yan relocated from the US to Shanghai, China about 2 year ago. Dr. Yan has almost 20 years of experience in clinical research and medical development areas across multiple therapeutic areas. He has held various positions in the past with increasing responsibilities at global and regional levels, including Senior Regional Director of Primary Care for Asia and Africa/Middle East regions, Emerging Markets Medical Affairs at Pfizer, Senior Medical Director of Asia Pacific and Latin America, Global Medical Director of CNS at legacy Wyeth, and Global Clinical R&D Director of neuroscience at J&J. Dr. Yan is an endocrinologist by training. He received his graduate and post graduate education both in the United States and China. Graduated from Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China with his M.D, he continued his clinical post-doc fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School & Johns Hopkins University in the USA prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry. He also received his MBA degree from the Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. |
