Dr. Sangeeta Tiwari has completed her Ph.D. from India and postdoctoral fellowship from Yale University. Now she is Associate (faculty) at Albert Einstein College of medicine and adjunct Assistant professor at City university of New York. She has ~10 years of experience in the field of infectious disease research involving, host directed therapies against intracellular bacterial infections, vaccine development and drug discovery. She has trained various undergraduate and graduate students during this period. Her work has contributed to several publications in Science, Nature immunology, Immunity and PNAS. She is serving as editor and reviewer for various journals and grant funding agencies. Her current research involves utilization of mycobacterial genetics to develop human tuberculosis challenge model and understanding the role of Mycobacterium tuberculosis virulence factors in the host-pathogenesis and evasion of host immune responses.
