Dr Jean-Francois Poulin, Associate Director, Caprion Biosciences

As the Associate Director, Scientific Team at Caprion Biosciences, Jean-Francois mentors and leads the team of scientific project managers responsible for the conduct of immune monitoring studies.  He has been with the company since 2008.
Before joining Caprion, Jean-Francois worked for the National Immune Monitoring Laboratory at Genome Quebec, where he completed immune monitoring studies using flow cytometry. Prior to that, he worked at Emerillon Therapeutics, a Montreal startup specialized in neurogenetics, where he identified and validated multiple KCNK18 ion channel genetic variants that were strongly associated with a specific subtype of migraine disease. 
For the last 10 years, Jean-Francois has been involved in the analysis of the immune response during clinical trials and in accordance with GLP regulations and GCLP guidelines.
Jean-Francois holds a PhD in Immunology from McGill University and an EMBA from the University of Quebec at Montreal (UQAM). He also completed a post-doc in Immunology and Virology at the University of California, San Francisco under Joseph McCune at the Gladstone Institute of Virology and Immunology, where he studied the immune response to HIV.
