Dr Hector Izurieta, Epidemiologist,  Immediate Office of the Director. Office of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, CBER, U.S. Federal Drug Administration

Hector Izurieta, M.D., M.P.H., has an MPH from Harvard, a Preventive Medicine (Fellowship) degree from CDC, a two-year training in epidemiology at the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS), in Atlanta, Georgia. He has extensive experience collaborating in multicenter (and multinational), large observational studies with CDC, the Food and Drug administration (FDA), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the World Health Organization (WHO), and other leading U.S. and international organizations. His current appointment is as senior epidemiologist under the Associate Director for Research, in the Immediate Office of the Director, Office of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, performing innovative observational studies on vaccine and biologics effectiveness and safety.
