Dr Fiona Lin, Small Molecule Analytical Chemistry and Quality Control, Genentech

Fiona obtained her Ph.D. from UC-Berkeley, where she trained with Prof. Carolyn Bertozzi in the areas of synthesis and characterization of complex carbohydrates and design and mechanistic studies of bio-orthogonal chemical reactions. She completed a California TRDRP Postdoctoral Fellowship in Prof. Zhibin Guan’s lab at UC-Irvine in the area of biopolymer design for siRNA delivery. Her professional career has been focused on analytical characterization, method development and QC release of drug substances and drug products within the biopharmaceutical industry.  Her experience and expertise spans the broad spectrum of small molecules, siRNA, complex carbohydrates, proteins and conjugate vaccines at companies including Merck, Pfizer, SutroVax and Genentech. She is an expert on the structural elucidation, analytical characterization and quality control of complex carbohydrates and carbohydrate-protein conjugate vaccines.
