Angela Shen, ScD, MPH is a Senior Science Policy Advisor at the National Vaccine Program Office. She leads a portfolio around adult immunization, quality measurement, vaccine and immunization financing, and innovation. Dr. Shen works with a wide range of stakeholders, federal and non-federal, across the immunization system and is a Co-Chair of the National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit (NAIIS).
She has broad experience in public health practice, regulatory science, and epidemiology and previously held various scientific, technical, and policy positions at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She is a graduate of Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Loma Linda University School of Public Health, and the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and holds the rank of Captain as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service.
