Mathew Woodwark, Director of Research Bioinformatics, Medimmune Ltd

Mathew Woodwark is the Director of Research Bioinformatics for MedImmune, the Biologics arm of AstraZeneca, based in Cambridge, UK. He has over two decades of Bioinformatics and Information Management experience, leading projects and capabilities in a wide range of areas, but with a particular emphasis on Genomics data management, data integration and utilisation and collaboration. He has delivered large scale multinational projects in these fields, changing how AstraZeneca, Cambridge Antibody Technology and MedImmune uses their data and information to choose and successfully pursue the right targets and projects in their portfolios. He is a strong believer in not only delivering projects, but delivering the value from projects through ensuring that they meet ongoing scientific needs. In addition to devising and delivering high level strategies in his own area of expertise, Mathew also acts as a strategic and organisational consultant to other parts of the company.
