Eric Pauwels has 33 years of healthcare experience in biopharmaceuticals and medical devices. Eric joined PTC in March 2015 as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Americas and will be responsible for the commercial strategy, organizational build out and launch of Translarna in the US, Canada and Latin America.
Previously Eric was with NPS Pharmaceuticals from 2011-2015 as the chief commercial officer where he built global commercial operations for the launch of Gattex/Revestive and prepared pre-launch strategy for Natpara, both biological therapies approved by the FDA for patients suffering from rare gastrointestinal and endocrine diseases.
Over the course of his career, Eric launched more than 20 biopharmaceutical specialty and orphan drugs in therapeutic areas such as CNS/Neuroscience, cardiovascular, women’s and men’s health, lysosomal storage diseases, hereditary angioedema and short bowel syndrome.
From 2005 to 2010, Eric served as head of global commercial operations at Shire Human Genetic Therapies (formerly TKT), where he had oversight of more than 400 employees in 30 countries and $800Mil in revenues.
Previously, Eric held the position of vice president of global strategic marketing for men's health and cardiovascular diseases at Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals and also held general management functions in the US, China, France, and Belgium for Fournier Pharma and Johnson & Johnson.
