Alastair Kent, Ambassador, Genetic Alliance UK
Alastair Kent was the Director of the Genetic Alliance UK. This is the alliance of patient support organisations for all those affected by or at risk from genetic disorders. Our aim is to improve the lives of people affected by genetic conditions by ensuring that high quality services and information are available to all who need them, and by endorsing high quality research and development that will improve the lives of patients living with serious unmet medical needs.
Alastair is also Chair of Rare Disease UK, the multi-stakeholder coalition for all who wish to see better support for rare disease patients and their families. In April 2017, after almost 25 years as Director, he stepped back from this role to become Genetic Alliance UK’s Ambassador.
Prior to joining Genetic Alliance UK Alastair worked for a number of voluntary organisations on issues concerning policy, service development and disabled people.
