Cynthia Magdaraog, Philippine Society for Orphan Disorders, Philippine Society for Orphan Disorders

Ms. Cynthia K. Magdaraog is currently president of the Philippine Society for Orphan Disorders, Inc. (PSOD), a non-stock, non-profit organization, established to assist persons (mostly children) afflicted with a rare disease,  to access treatment and supportive care for its members. She assumed the position in July 2006 since it was organized.

She is mother of a young man, now 39 years old, who has been living with Pompe Disease, a rare disorder, for the past 29 years. 

Ms. Magdaraog is also the Board Secretary of the Philippine Alliance of Patient Organizations, (PAPO) for Y2015-2017. PAPO is a unifying body composed of coalition of patients, patient groups, and health advocates, to act as a national patient’s voice in matters involving health issues –related issues.
