Petter has 20 years experience in risk management and trading from internantional banks and as a consultant. He is regional director in GARP(Global Association of Risk Professionals), and was advisor for the Norwegian SEC several years. Petter Kapstad joined Statoil in 1994 as Financial Controller. and since 1996 has been responsible for building up Statoil Corporate Risk Management which he is now heading. He regulary gives speeches at various international conferences on the topic of Enterprise Wide Risk Management and Strategic Risk Planning. Statoils Risk management was already awarded as best EWRM practioning company by University of St. Gallen in July 2005.
