Mr Christoph Schlichter | Senior Vice President Production North Africa RWE Dea AG
Since June 2008, Christoph Schlichter has been Senior Vice President Production North Africa at RWE Dea AG, Hamburg, Germany. He is responsible for RWE Dea's operations in Libya and Egypt as well as for RWE Dea’s interests in Algeria.
From 2002 to 2008, Christoph Schlichter was Managing Director of RWE Dea’s subsidiary in Great Britain, RWE Dea UK. In this position, he managed RWE Dea's operations in the UK sector of the North Sea, comprising the gas production and gas field developments in the Southern North Sea.
In 2001, Christoph Schlichter joined RWE Dea AG as Vice President of the Domestic Oil Production of RWE Dea AG. He was responsible for the German oil operations, mainly including the production from Germany’s biggest oilfield Mittelplate in the German North Sea, as well as preparing the abandonment operations on Schwedeneck See in the German Baltic Sea.
Before that, Christoph Schlichter held various posts at Veba Oil & Gas (in Germany and The Netherlands), and Shell International Petroleum Maatschaapij SIPM (in The Netherlands, Oman and Germany).
Christoph Schlichter studied Mining and Petroleum Engineering at the Technische Universität Clausthal in Germany and at the Colorado School of Mines in the U.S.. In 1985, he graduated as a “Diplom-Ingenieur” in Clausthal.
