Sertaç Haybat | General Manager and Member of the Board
Pegasus Airlines

Born in 1952 in Istanbul, Turkey, Sertaç Haybat graduated from the University of Manchester (UK) in 1976 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. After completing his military service in the Turkish Air Force in 1979, he began his career in the airline industry as the Maintenance Manager for Bursa Airlines. In 1982, he took up a position with Turkish Airlines' (THY) engineering team. After five years, he was appointed Maintenance Manager of Bosphorus Air Transport. In 1989, he returned to THY and worked in various positions, first as Strategic Planning and Investments Manager, then Marketing Director and finally as Sales Director for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Mr. Haybat was a partner at the Seser Travel Agency between 1993 and 1997, after which he rejoined THY as a member of the Executive Management Team responsible for Finance and Corporate Planning. He was also a board member of Sun Express until 2003, which is the THY-Thomas Cook charter airline joint venture. Mr. Haybat oversaw the acquisition of Pegasus by Esas Holding at the end of 2004. He is currently the General Manager and a Board Member of Pegasus. He also provides tourism and airline investment consultancy services to Esas Holding. Mr. Haybat is married with two children and speaks Turkish, English and French.
