Dr Pieter Dylst | Health Economics Officer

Pieter Dylst is a Health Economics Officer at the EGA since October 2014. As part of the Market Access team, he will work to shape in the EU a dynamic and sustainable market situation that enables fast and fair pricing and reimbursement for generic, biosimilar and value added medicines, thereby improving and increasing the access for patients to affordable generic, biosimilar and value added medicines.
MSc in Pharmacy by background, he obtained a PhD at the KU Leuven on the topic “Analysis of European policy towards generic medicines” in September 2013. This PhD was part of the EGA Chair under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Steven Simoens. After his PhD, he served for one more year as a post-doctoral researcher, during which he analysed generic medicines retail markets in several European countries.
