Albert Isola was elected to the Gibraltar Parliament at a by election on the 4th July 2013 and was appointed as the Minister with responsibility for Financial Services and Gaming. At present, he is the Minister for Commerce. He is a Barrister by profession and was prior to his election a Senior Partner in a major Gibraltar law firm where he worked extensively in Financial Services and was heavily involved in the promotion of this sector internationally. He also worked on many of Gibraltar's largest property developments both with developers and financial institutions.
Albert previously served in the Gibraltar Parliament from 1996-2000 when he was Shadow Minister for Trade, Financial Services and the Port with the GSLP Opposition. Albert is the third generation of his family involved in frontline politics. Financial Services and Gaming are important contributors to the Gibraltar economy and their continued development is high on his agenda.
