Hirander Misra is Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Global Markets Exchange Group (GMEX), which is focused on operating trading venues across multiple asset classes, initially centred on the move of OTC derivatives on-exchange driven by global regulation and the need for capital efficiency. The GMEX Group also encompasses exchange technology provision through its GMEX Technologies (GMEX TECH) subsidiary and indices development through its Global Derivatives Indices (GDI) subsidiary (for which he is Executive Chairman) in both developed and developing markets.
Hirander is also Chairman of high-tech trading firm Forum Trading Solutions and Director of Misra Ventures, a consultancy providing specialist senior level advisory services to exchanges. Previously he was the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Chi-X Europe Limited, instrumental in taking the company from concept to successful launch. At the time of his departure in February 2010, Chi-X Europe was the second largest equities trading venue in Europe, just behind the LSE Group and was subsequently sold to Bats Global Markets in November 2011 for $365mn.
