Robert Kane, Vice President & U.S Head, Life Science Industries, Tata Consultancy Services

Mr. Kane is currently an executive and head of TCS's business in United States for the Life Sciences Industry business unit  In this capacity, Mr. Kane is responsible for the growth, oversight, client service and development of TCS’ business spanning the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomedical device, clinical research and diagnostics industry sub-segments. Mr. Kane serves as the Executive Sponsor for several of TCS’s clients in Life Sciences and has been serving clients for TATA Consultancy Services  in senior leadership positions since February of 2006.
With over 26 years of  experience in serving clients in professional services, Mr. Kane has held executive management and service delivery, and consulting roles in, IT enabled solutions implementation & transformation, IT outsourcing, infrastructure outsourcing, business process outsourcing, clinical development outsourcing , process reengineering, shared services, ERP & Package Solution Implementation and consulting; and  he has lead client engagement teams of over 1500 professionals and supported large scale business change engagements at leading Fortune 500 businesses including: General Electric, Corning, Wyeth, Gilead Sciences, Medtronic, Air Products & Chemicals, UPS, United Technologies, Xerox, Phillip Morris, Motorola/Symbol Technologies, Delta Airlines, Colgate, Allergan, Hospira, Abbvie, Quest Diagnostics, Bayer, CR Bard, Sunovian, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Illumina, Thermo Fisher  and Hoffman LaRoche.
Previous to TCS, Mr. Kane served as Vice President and General Manager for the Metro New York Region of EDS, now HP Enterprise Services for over 7 years.   In this capacity, Mr. Kane was responsible for service, operations and growth of Information Technology Services Business Process Services and Consulting Services Clients across a variety of industries with businesses headquartered in the New York Metro area.   Mr. Kane served as client executive-in-charge of  several large Enterprise System Implementation, ERP Implementation, Business Process Services and IT Application, Operations and Outsourcing engagements  During his tenure, Mr. Kane rose from an individual contributor to a board approved executive position of Managing Director and VP & General Manager.
Previous to EDS/HP, Mr. Kane was an Associate Partner / Senior Manager with Andersen Consulting, now Accenture where he served for 9 years leading engagements of Accenture services in Manufacturing, Consumer Products, Transportation, Media and Information Services industry segments throughout  the United States.  Mr. Kane rose through the ranks at Accenture to become a senior member of Accenture’s supply chain management, financial core group, and an executive committee member representing the Institute of Management Accountants.   Mr. Kane held roles of associate partner, engagement manager, senior consultant and consultant  for several  large scale ERP and Custom Business Process, Organization & System implementations at prestigious Fortune 500 clients.
Mr. Kane is an alumnus of The Pennsylvania State University, and  holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Logistics and Industrial Engineering along with an M.B.A. from the University of Brideport in Finance. He is a graduate of the Covey Leadership Program and a Fellow of the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS)
Mr. Kane is married to Kathleen  and has two children – Matthew and Maura.  . He is an accomplished pianist, long-distance runner, skier and tennis enthusiast.
