Dr. Sudha Chivukula is a Ph.D in Biochemistry from Andhra University and has several years of R&D experience in the Biotechnology industry. At Shantha, she has held scientific and managerial positions working in the areas of translation research, taking new vaccine candidates from conceptual phase through pharmaceutical & clinical development phase. She is involved in developing strategies and designs for early R&D products and process development activities with an objective to meet the medical need, business plans, regulatory environment, and commercial manufacturing requirements for vaccines. Dr. Sudha is currently leading a New Vaccine Development Program at the Shantha R&D organization with a mission to build & integrate strategy and development of a new vaccine which involves in-depth scientific evaluation and business acumen.

Dr. Sudha has worked in areas of biochemistry, molecular biology, protein engineering, recombinant protein purification, cell culture and preclinical assay models for vaccine development.  She has interdisciplinary cross-functional research experience from discovery stage to clinical trial vaccine manufacture. She has done postdoctoral research in the field of genomics and has graduated from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow in Executive Management Program.
