Ms Annie Mo, Program Officer, N.I.H.

Dr. Annie Mo has worked in the areas of immunology, vaccinology, and vaccine and immunotherapeutics for over 20 years, and had held positions of increasing responsibility in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, and in the Federal Government.  She pursued her Ph.D. in viral immunology from a joint program of University of Tennessee and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and received her post-doctoral training in antigen processing and presentation from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She was a Senior Scientist in Wyeth (now Pfizer) developing viral vaccine products and technology platforms, and became the Director of Infectious Diseases of a Massachusetts-based biotechnology firm (Antigenics Inc., now Agenus Inc.), overseeing multiple R&D programs for a variety of infectious diseases and adjuvants such as genital Herpes, Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, malaria, and QS-21. She is now a Program Officer and a Contracting Officer Representative from the Parasitology and International Programs Branch in Division of Microbiology of Infectious Diseases, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institute of Health. Currently she manages a grant and contract portfolio in vaccine and immunotherapy development for parasitic diseases including malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).
