Shin Miyakawa, Head of IoT Office, NTT Communications Corporation

Dr. Shin Miyakawa received his B.S., M.S., and Doctoral degrees in Computer Science from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1990,1992, and 1995 respectively, then joined to NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone) Corporation in 1995. Since then, he has worked as an researcher and done several R&D and business incubation projects especially in Internet technology fields.

He initiated IPv6 efforts of NTT in 1996 and move to the Lab in Silicon Valley and started to contribution to the Internet technology development in and out of NTT groups, especially on Internet Protocol version 6, Carrier Grade NAT technology and so on. He is an active IETF participant and an author not only technical articles, papers and presentations but also several standardization documents such as RFC3769, RFC6888 etc. He is also working on cutting edge technologies such as cyber security, high speed software router,network virtualization, and IoT.

He is now the head of IoT Office, Corporate Planning Department, NTT Communications Corporation and also belongs to Technology Development and the Third Sales Division as one of VPs of the company, conducting IoT related business activities, high technology development and boost some special projects. He is a guest lecturer at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and Nagoya University, Sr. Researcher at SFC Lab of Keio University. A board member of #192 Committee (Cyber Security) in the JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science).
