Gerardo Murray, Regl Vice President Sales Marketing, InterContinental Hotels Group

Gerardo is Regional Vice President, Distribution and Commercial Marketing for Mexico, Latin America & Caribbean, IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) PLC.
 
He is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of marketing programs and initiatives to support  over 200 hotels throughout Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. Additionally, he oversees the execution of all marketing plans, alliances and strategic partnerships to strengthen brand portfolio and is responsible for the deployment of IHG’s loyalty program – IHG® Rewards Club – throughout the above  territory.
 
Prior to this role, Gerardo was Vice President, Marketing Strategic Services for Mexico, Latin America & Caribbean. His relationship with IHG spans the last 12 years. He joined IHG in 2010 overseeing Sales and Marketing for Mexico. While In this role he implemented several revenue-generating programs and promotions, launched public relations campaigns, signed several key partnerships and alliances for IHG, and oversaw sales development of IHG  key accounts in Mexico.

Previously, Gerardo was CEO and General Director of Casa Grande, where he was responsible for carrying out the company’s general operations, marketing, and finance of eight hotels under international brands. He also managed relationships with major investors and created multiple brand promotions, securing strategic alliances. Before this, he was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Mexico-based Milenium Grupo Hotelero, where he oversaw strategy development in sales, marketing and public relations for 13-IHG branded hotels across various segments and served on the Priority Club Rewards® (now IHG® Rewards Club) Advisory Committee.
 
Prior to this, he also served as the General Manager for the Holiday Inn Parque Fundidora Monterrey where he was awarded the 2002 Torchbearer Award for the Best Holiday Inn in Latin America, and recognized at the 2002 Choice Awards as the Best Hotel member of the Priority Club® (now IHG® Rewards Club) program in Mexico.
 
With more than 23 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Gerardo was named one of the ‘Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Marketing’ by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI). He also received the Jean Berthelot Award for the ‘Distinguished Executive of the Year in Sales and Marketing’ by HSMAI- Mexico.
