Austin is a Director at Telenor Group responsible for public and regulatory affairs across Telenor’s Asia operations. Based in Singapore, he works closely with local business units, government officials, regulators, and international organisations to shape an enabling environment for growth and innovation in the mobile and digital sectors.
Prior to joining Telenor Group, he was a senior advisor at the GSMA, the trade body that represents mobile network operators worldwide. In this role he led public policy engagement across Asia and the Pacific out of Hong Kong, supporting operators and governments in the development of policies and regulations that empower citizens and industry. He has also worked in consulting for the NGO, pharmaceutical, and tech sectors, and as a civil servant in the Government of Canada.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Ottawa in political science and a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Hong Kong.
