Mr Adrian Abdul Ghani is currently a Senior Director in the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the regulator for the converged communications and multimedia industry. He is in his second stint in MCMC and now heads the digital services and data platform initiatives run by the Commission. During his first stint in MCMC (2002-2009), Mr Adrian served in the Legal and Regulatory Department and thereafter the Resource Assignment (Spectrum, Numbering) Management Division where he led the national roll-out of Mobile Number Portability in Malaysia.
Adrian began his career as a legal practitioner in a law firm with regional presence, with exposure in the area of banking and financing, intellectual property, company law and communications and multimedia law.
Prior to his current appointment, Adrian headed the Bionexus Programme as Senior Vice President of the Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation, an agency under the Ministry of Science Technology and Innvovation. Bionexus is a status which is awarded to eligible biotechnology companies entering the commercialisation phase in which tax incentives, funding assistance, regulatory advice and other ecosystem-related support are provided.
