Elaine Stafford, Managing Partner, DRG Undersea Consulting

Ms. Stafford has been involved in the planning, development, design, engineering, and implementation of undersea fiber-optic cable system projects worldwide since the early 1980s. Ms. Stafford joined DRG in 2002 and since that time has been advising undersea cable developers and owners across the globe. Ms. Stafford has developed feasibility studies, business plans, supported partnership negotiations, managed cable procurement activities, and managed implementation of numerous projects on behalf of clients - most notably including PCCS,  AAE-1 (Retelit), SEA-US (GTA), SEACOM, TE-North, MedCable and TWA. Elaine has  a unique  blend  of  project, commercial and technical expertise. Prior to joining DRG, Ms. Stafford held executive positions at Tyco Telecom, AT&T Submarine Systems and at AT&T Bell Laboratories, with responsibilities spanning business development, global sales, project management, network engineering, product management, and R&D (system design and test, plus the development of terminal equipment for undersea networks).  Ms. Stafford holds a BSEE from Union College and an MSEE from Stanford University. She has been an avid supporter of SubOptic and at the 2013 conference, was honored by their recognition of her contributions.
