James Walker, Vice President of Business Development Africa and Middle East, Zenzu Submarine LLC

James is a Principal consultant at Zenzu, a boutique advisory and consulting firm focused on the Internet infrastructure space. James leads the Enterprise practice, advising public and private market investors, carriers, and enterprises on network strategy, procurement, and current trends such as SD WAN. He is also responsible for business development in the Middle East and Africa for Zenzu Submarine, which is developing two submarine cables in the region. Before joining Zenzu James was Vice President of Managed Network Services at Tata Communications, where he was responsible for global product and portfolio management for Tata's suite of enterprise network solutions. He also led product innovation in the wholesale and enterprise product portfolio, defining and then implementing the company’s SDN/NFV and SD WAN strategy. 

Prior to Tata James held senior positions at BT Wholesale, Cable & Wireless (now Vodafone), and Internet startups in North America and Australia. James also founded and served as President of OpenCloud Connect, an industry standards body focused on standardising interfaces between cloud service providers, network and data centre operators, and enterprises.
