Adrian Hilton, Owner & Technical Director, Subsea 123

Adrian Hilton, Owner and Technical Director of Subsea 123.  Adrian has more than 45 years’ experience in Submarine Cable Systems.  He worked as a Terminal Station Technician, initially as an assistant to the Clerk Of Works and then as Station Manager for the first 14 Mhz analogue system and later the first Digital Optical System (UK-Belgium 5).  Joining the BT Subsea Centre of Excellence in 1988, based in London, he took a major role in Operations and Maintenance for the whole BT Subsea Network and coordinated activities with all BT’s Consortia Partners around the World.   Adrian has a vast experience in Terminal Station Infrastructure, Tender Adjudication, Factory Acceptance Testing, System Commissioning and all aspects of O&M with a particular emphasis on Power Feeding and Fault Location.  He also led the Power and Optical Safety Training of Terminal Station personnel for all BT Subsea Terminal Stations and several European Stations.  Retiring from BT in 2011, Adrian now works as a Consultant.
