Victor Lor is the Head of Asia Pacific, GSA Investment Management (IM), a global pioneer and leader in student accommodation. Victor is responsible for building and leading the IM team which includes the functions of funds management, capital raising & partnerships, business development and investor relations.
Prior to joining GSA, Victor was the principal of VB Capital Asia, a private equity real estate advisory and corporate finance boutique advising both GPs and LPs.
Prior to VB Capital Asia, Victor was Director, Strategic Real Estate Asia, APG Asset Management Asia. His role encompassed the management of existing investments and origination/ execution of new real estate investments across the Asia Pacific region. Focussing on building long-term partnerships and joint ventures with leading real estate operators/ owners and developers he represented APG in the capacity as a Board or Investment/ Advisory Committee member on >USD1.5bn of invested equity across multiple fund/ club/ JV investments.
Before APG, Mr Lor was Managing Director of a private equity real estate manager in joint venture with Shui On Construction and Materials. He has over 18 years of real estate investment banking and funds management experience across Asia.
Mr Lor was also a Director, UBS Investment Bank, Asia within its Real Estate team, based in Hong Kong and Singapore where he spent three years executing over USD3.3 billion in corporate finance, equity capital markets and private equity transactions across Asia.
Mr Lor also spent 11 years in real estate funds management in Australia, at Colonial First State managing over USD1.4 billion in direct and indirect real estate investments for some of Australia's largest pension and corporate superannuation funds. Prior to Colonial, Mr. Lor worked with DB Real Estate (RREEF), and Colliers Jardine. He holds a Land Economics (Honors) degree, University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and post graduate qualifications in finance and economics from Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA) & UTS. He has also completed Harvard Law School’s Advanced Programs on Negotiation, Mediation Disputes & Management.
