Annika Kroon is an economist working for the last six years for the European Commission in the domain of impact assessments, first assisting the Commission Impact Assessment Board and then in the Directorate General for Mobility and Transport. She has worked on a wide range of EU transport policy proposals, including the 4th Railway Package, Single Sky 2+ and Shift2Rail. In June 2014 she joined the unit of the Single European Rail Area focussing from now on the economics of railways. Her earlier working experience includes banking statistics and analysis in the Central Bank of Estonia and financial and business analysis in telecommunication corporation TELE2. She holds master degrees in econometrics (University of Tartu, Estonia) and international finance (The Open University, United Kingdom).
