VA-RCM – ‘Vibration Analysis for Remote Condition Monitoring’ of Train Doors
The VA-RCM consortium project is developing an innovative system which will remotely detect train door failures before they happen and help predict the maintenance requirements of the door. The system monitors and compares previous vibration data, using internet-based remote condition monitoring. Using vibration analysis provides huge safety and efficiency savings, as well as reduced downtime for rolling stock operators, with significant predicted cost savings year on year.
The international consortium consists of:
Hitex (UK, Germany)
TWI Ltd (UK) Transport Systems Catapult (UK)
Transports Metropolitans De Barcelona SA (Spain)
Innovative Technology and Science Limited (UK)
Please come and see us to find out more and meet the VA-RCM team. We will also be running live demonstrations of the VA-RCM system on the stand!
The VA-RCM project is funded by the European Union’s H2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No 730766.
