Chad Marson is an Operational Risk Officer at BMO FG where he participates in enterprise wide risk initiatives as part of the Global Information Technology Risk Management and Corporate Operational Risk Management teams.
Chad is primarily responsible for ensuring technology controls are appropriately managed and adequate operational risk capital is maintained in support of the banks Advanced Measurement Approach for Corporate and Technology portfolios.
Chad has a strong Information and Cyber Security background previously holding the role of Information Security Officer for Capital Markets and Risk Infrastructure. Chad has been Chair of the Canadian Financial Institutions – Critical Incident Response Team (CFI-CIRT) Professional Development Day that brings together industry leaders to present on current threats and risk mitigation strategies for the Canadian banking industry.
Chad has an Honours degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, holds CISSP, CISA, PMP, PMP-RMP, CRISC designations, and is trained as a Certified Ethical Hacker. Chad maintains a strong business background holding his Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and believes the key to Risk Management is proactively enabling the business and effectively communicating Technology Risks in business terms.
