Patrick Hopkinson | Director Market Access & External Affairs Bristol-Myers Squibb
Patrick is Director of Market Access and External Affairs at Bristol Myers Squibb UK. In his role Patrick leads the key market access functions including Government affairs, Communications, Pricing, HTA and Field Access.
He represents BMS in a number of Industry groups including the ABPI Value Based Pricing/Cancer Drugs Fund working group, the New NHS working group and the American Pharmaceutical Group. Previously he was involved in a number of key Pharma policy initiatives including the ABPI/DoH Joint Working Task Force, the Office of Life Science Blue Print, the QIPP national initiative and the value and access third party support campaign team.
Patrick joined BMS in Sept 2010. Previously he had spent 14 years at GSK in a variety of roles. He joined as a health economist in R&D, moved rapidly to a global strategic marketing role before moving to GSK UK. Following roles in sales management and marketing he was appointed business unit director for the specialist portfolio and then was appointed to director portfolio and partnership marketing a key strategic market team pioneering new ways of working with the NHS and evolution of the commercial model in response to the changing customer environment.
Before joining GSK Patrick was a clinical pharmacist specialising in Oncology. He has an MBA from Henley Management College.
