IRKUT Corporation takes the leading position in the Russian aircraft manufacturing. By the results of 2008, 2009 and 2010 the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation awarded IRKUT Corporation with the title “Best exporter of the year” in the “Aircraft manufacturing” category.
Since November, 2006 IRKUT Corporation is part of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
MC-21 new generation airliner is the major prospective project of the Russian civil aviation industry. IRKUT Corporation develops a family of short/mid range aircraft intended for passenger transportations on domestic and international airlines.
Compared to its existing analogues MC-21 offers 12-15% operational costs reduction. MC-21 will have expanded operational capabilities and will match future environmental requirements. The airliner provides higher level of comfort compared with existing narrow-body aircraft.
