Helder Nakaya, Associate Professor, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University Of Sao Paulo

Helder Nakaya is an associate professor at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Medicine, USA. He has a PhD in Molecular Biology with extensive training in Bioinformatics. Together with Bali Pulendran, he pioneered the field of Systems Vaccinology, which combines systems-wide measurements, networks, and predictive modeling in the context of vaccines and infectious diseases. His lab has applied systems biology approaches and machine learning algorithms to understand and predict the mechanisms of vaccine induced-immunity and to investigating the basis of infectious diseases.

Appearances:

Day 2, April 8 @ 15:10

Interactive Discussion: How can we use data to inform next generation vaccines?

  • Exploring immune profiling platforms to accelerate and de-risk vaccine development
  • Can modelling immune responses outside the body human help to do this?
  • How can we use big data to inform next generation vaccines?
