Tim serves as Managing Director of Georgia Tech’s Supply Chain & Logistics Institute (SCL). SCL is an Interdisciplinary Research Center unit which has grown out of Georgia Tech's #1 ranked H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. SCL's global mission to enable supply chain professionals, businesses, and international governments to transform complex supply chains, improve logistics performance, and increase competitiveness by applying education, innovation and solutions (emerging practices). SCL conducts supply chain and logistics research, education, and outreach efforts through its offices throughout the world. Mr. Brown is responsible for the strategic planning and development of executive education programs, leading outreach efforts, and managing the shared services team.
Prior to joining Georgia Tech, Mr. Brown worked in supply chain and logistics in industry roles in operations management, consulting, and recruiting with firms such as: Chainalytics, Accenture, IBM, Georgia Pacific, and Fortna. Tim is known for his leadership in supply chain engineering. He has worked across a wide range of industries, and his clients have included firms such as: Apple, HP, Philips, and Clorox.
Mr. Brown was chosen by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine as a Practitioner Pro to Know. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Science from Georgia Tech, and an MBA from Georgia State University. He has been certified in Production and Inventory Management, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, and Business Transformation through various professional societies.
