Jacky Schmitt graduated in 1993 in Molecular Biology at the University Louis Pasteur from Strasbourg for a project performed at European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg (Germany). Subsequently he performed for 2 years a  post-doctoral fellowship at Max-Planck-Institut für Immunbiologie in Freiburg (Germany). 
Jacky has extensive experience in pharmaceutical industry, mainly in line and project management. Since 2007, he is the director of biopharmaceutical production & development department at Celonic (previously Glycotope Biotechnology). His main working area includes the scale-up and GMP production of recombinant proteins from mammalian cells (fed-batch and perfusion processes) as well as aseptic production of clinical material for use in clinical studies. Previously he worked 3 years as project manager at mtm Laboratories (now Roche Diagnostics) and 9 years as head of cell biology at Pharmacia Diagnostics/Pfizer.
