Benjamí Oller-Salvia is Assistant Professor at IQS School of Engineering – Ramon Llull University in Barcelona (Spain). He obtained his PhD at the University of Barcelona, conducting research in Prof. Ernest Giralt’s laboratory at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona). His PhD thesis focussed on venom-inspired peptide shuttles for drug delivery to the brain. He pursued postdoctoral research from 2016 until 2019 in Prof. Jason Chin’s laboratory at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge. In his postdoctoral work as an EMBO fellow he applied genetic code expansion to generate new therapeutic proteins, including antibody-drug conjugates. His current research interests span the fields of drug delivery, and chemical and synthetic biology.
