Peter Meyer is the Managing Director, Asia Pacific of Host Hotels & Resorts.  Based in the region for nearly 25 years, he is responsible for the overall management and origination of Host’s investments and business activities across Asia Pacific.

Under Peter, Host’s investment strategy is to build a portfolio in key gateway cities within the Asia Pacific region, and over the past three years, has made acquisitions in Australia and New Zealand.  Separately, he directs and oversees the portfolio investments under a joint-venture hotel investment company established by GIC Real Estate and Host, which has an existing investment property in Perth, Australia and is also developing seven hotels in India (New Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai).

Before his appointment at Host, Peter was the Group Executive Vice President for New City Corporation (NCC), a Tokyo-based property investment management and development company.  Previously, Peter served as the Chief Operating Officer to NCC’s associate company – CB Richard Ellis Investors Japan.  In these capacities, he was actively involved in the Group’s capital raisings, including the public listing of New City Residence Investment Corporation (a residential J-REIT).

Peter has held a range of banking, investment and advisory positions, including Chief Financial Officer of Ripplewood Lodging in Japan and Head of the Asian Real Estate Investment Banking Group for J.P. Morgan & Co. in Hong Kong.  He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Denver.
