Mr Akshaya Gaur | Global Programme Director - Enterprise Content Management Standard Chartered Bank
In his current role Akshaya is responsible for the Global Enterprise Content Management (ECM) function – providing the strategic direction and solutions for the management of all unstructured, semi-structured information within Standard Chartered Bank. As an executing-strategist, he is also responsible for the development and delivery of the technology solutions that deliver these capabilities for the Bank.
He is also part of Standard Chartered Bank’s Business Leadership Team and the Group Functions Leadership Team and reports to the CIO Group Functions, Standard Chartered Bank.
In his previous role, Akshaya was responsible for the management of the Bank’s Technology subsidiary in Chennai and for positioning it as the engine that powers Standard Chartered Bank’s vision and growth. Since he joined the Bank in 1989, Akshaya has worked in many countries – India, UK, Kenya, Indonesia and Singapore and held many key technology roles in the Bank.
Prior to joining the Bank, Akshaya worked in the IT Industry in India with a strong Banking and Finance focus and was among the 'pioneers' of India's export of software development skills to the USA in 1980.
Akshaya is a Member of the Advisory Board of the CIO Association of India and the World CIO Council. He has presented papers and convened panel discussions in industry forums such as NASSCOM, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and other IT forums. He was a Visiting speaker at the Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai and SASTRA University, Thanjavur in India.
Akshaya holds a Bachelor of Technology (Civil Engineering) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and has done his Post-Graduation in Systems & Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
