Superfast West Yorkshire and York is delivering faster, more reliable broadband across the region. The first two phases of the programme are well on their way to deliver up to 98% superfast broadband coverage across West Yorkshire and York by 2021. The project is working with Openreach to improve and add the new infrastructure needed in the intervention area to improve digital connectivity in the region. Our overall objective is to ensure that more residents and businesses can access faster, more reliable broadband for both social and economic benefit.
We are funded by the five West Yorkshire authorities of Calderdale, Wakefield, Kirklees, Bradford and Leeds, by the City of York Council, the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK), and as part of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and the European Regional Development Fund 2014 - 2020 England Operational Programme (ERDF).
