Mr. Schwedhelm oversees Darby’s financial sector investments, which are part of the firm’s emerging market private equity business. He has been responsible for Darby’s portfolio companies in 9 Latin American countries. A Mexican and German national, he has over 30 years of experience in international finance. Prior to joining Darby, he was President for Latin America at GMAC-RFC and Managing Partner at Auritec. Previously, Mr. Schwedhelm was CFO of Banca Serfin, and served at the World Bank, and the IFC. He holds an Industrial Engineering degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and a Masters degree from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Mr. Schwedhelm is a recipient of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
