Adrian Aguilera is Founder and Co-CEO of Vertex Real Estate Investors. Vertex REI is a private equity fund focused at making value added and opportunistic investments in the main real estate subsectors in Mexico. Adrián has over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, including 6 years in corporate and investment banking focused on real estate in Mexico and the rest of Latin America. Mr. Aguilera has worked in key management roles in several real estate transactions with a combined value of US$3 billion. Transactions include senior and mezzanine loans, portfolio management and loan acquisitions and sales in Mexico and United States as well as sale and leasebacks. From 2007 to 2009, Adrian was a Director for Latin America in Credit Suisse’s Real Estate Finance and Securitizations Group. Prior to that, Adrián was Director in GE Real Estate (2004-2007), dedicated to structuring, originating, administrating and restructuring real estate loans for hotels, shopping centers, offices and industrial properties. He also worked in Banca Serfín, Rabobank International and Societé Generale (1989-2004) accumulating vast experience in corporate finance, investment banking, financial derivatives and real estate financing. Mr. Aguilera holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and an MBA from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
