Konstantinos Tzanakakis, Senior Railway Expert, Rail Consultant

Konstantinos Tzanakakis is working as Senior Railway Advisor at the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Oman for railway institutional issues, railway policies and the establishment of a Railway Authority in Oman. 
Prior to joining Ministry of Transport and Communications in Oman, Konstantinos worked in 2013 and 2014 at the OmanRail Company for the development of the Omani National Railway Network and in Greece in the last 30 years at Greek Railways Organization, having in last years the position of the Director of Track / Rail Systems Directorate. Between 2011 and 2013 he also worked in Serbia, for restructuring Serbian Railways. Notable is his over 30 years of experience in the railway sector including 8 years in Director positions at Greek Railways Organization.
Konstantinos received the degree of a Civil Engineer (MSc.) at the University of Hannover in Germany in 1982 and in 2007 a Master Executive MBA from the Athens University of Economics & Business.
His professional interests focus on the efficiency of the railway system, and in 2013 he published a book “The Railway Track and its Long-Term Behaviour”.  In recent years, he was speaking at several railway congresses and held workshops regarding best practices of track maintenance to keep a high-performance railway track (Singapore in October 2015, Dubai in November 2015, Qatar in January 2016).  Finally, in January 2017, he was the Chairman of an international railway congress in Berlin/Germany.
