Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez has built an impressive 11-year career developing, innovating, and growing the world’s biggest beauty brands. In 2005, she graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University, armed with a Communications Technology Management degree, as well as early leadership experience through her service as the Ateneo Junior Marketing Association’s executive vice president.
Her knowledge and expertise in marketing, sales, finance, supply chain management, and customer development was honed from the day she entered Unilever Philippines’ prestigious management trainee program in June 2005, sparking an eight year-long career with the multinational company.
While in Unilever, Jacqe handled leading brands such as Sunsilk, Clear, Pond’s, Master, Vaseline, Dove, Lux, and St. Ives. Brands that grew under her leadership consistently overtook competition, won marketing awards, and upped their social media numbers.
Jacqe’s stint with Unilever ended with her being the senior regional manager of Unilever Skin Care for Southeast Asia and Australasia. In October 2013, she transitioned to being a business owner, launching Happy Skin—the Philippines’ favorite homegrown brand of skin-caring makeup—together with co-founder Rissa Mananquil-Trillo. In a span of two years, Happy Skin has set up 80 counters across the country, won 20 beauty awards from top fashion and beauty glossies, was awarded by online news giant Rappler as a brand leader in social media, was hailed by Ayala Malls as the Most Promising Retailer for 2015, and garnered Watsons Philippines’ award as the Most Promising New Cosmetic Brand for 2015
